FAQ

What is Teachers Pay Teachers?
Teacherspayteachers.com is a website owned by former New York City teacher Paul Edelman, where teachers and other educators can sell their original lesson plans, units, worksheets, PowerPoints, and other teaching resources to other teachers all over the world. Think of it as the ebay or Amazon of the teaching world. It is an open marketplace so each seller decides what he or she will sell and how much to sell it for. Most sellers sell downloadable products, but you can sell hard goods that are shipped too. You can find out more about the basics of  selling on TpT at the TpT FAQ.

If I can find out how to sell on the Teachers Pay Teachers site, what SoS on TpT for?
Anyone can post products on TpT, it is an open marketplace after all, but not everyone can make money. In fact there are thousands of products on the site that have never sold and probably never will. Creating quality products, pricing them appropriately, marketing, and navigating the intricacies of the TpT site are all skills that must be learned if you want to be a successful seller. SoS on TpT is for those who want to go beyond the basics to learn how to really make money on TpT.

What makes you such an expert on TpT?
I am very knowledgeable about the ins and outs of TpT and how to create and market successful products. I have been selling with the site almost from its inception back in 2006 and have seen the site grow and evolve over the years. Further, I am one of the site's top sellers. But perhaps most importantly, I am an active participant in the community of sellers on TpT. Those of us who are active sellers share information, ideas, and support. Many of the ideas found on SoS on TpT have come from these sellers. If I am not knowledgeable on a particular subject, I can find someone who is.

That said, some of the posts here do contain my opinions, and that is exactly what they are, opinions. So if you want to do it differently, you certainly can!

Can you really make money on TpT?
Yes! In fact the #1 seller on TpT (sadly, not me), is a kindergarten teacher from Georgia named Deanna Jump. Deanna has made over $1.5 million dollars! It is important to remember that she is by far the exception rather than the rule, but she is proof that it is possible. As for me, I no longer teach and live off my TpT money. I just bought a house, 100% TpT funded. Many sellers make a few hundred or a few thousand a month, but even an extra $200 can make a pretty big difference for many of us.

Why do you call it SoS on TpT?
"Sell yOur Stuff on Teachers Pay Teachers"  Well...I thought it was cute.
